The Director General of the UIIP on a TV program about AI and its future

26.01.2026

On the ONT television channel, the popular news and analytical program "Contours" presented an expert perspective on the current topic of artificial intelligence and its impact on human intelligence. The program's hosts addressed Sergei Vladimirovich Kruglikov, Director General of the United Institute of Informatics Problems (UIIP) of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The program focused on scientific development, including the popular question of the contrast between human intelligence and machine intelligence: will AI replace humans? Sergei Vladimirovich responded to this question: "Natural intelligence as such is not going anywhere. Artificial intelligence is developing at the expense of natural intelligence, and it is crucial to direct it toward solving necessary problems." This means that the development of AI is not a counterweight to natural intelligence, but rather a tool to assist humans, specialists in solving a range of problems.

For their part, UIIP scientists and engineers continue to work to ensure that artificial intelligence becomes a reliable assistant capable of solving complex problems and improving people's quality of life.
