Безопасность личных данных пациентов в системах ИИ: новые вызовы и решения

15.05.2026

A national conference dedicated to the implementation of innovative technologies and digital solutions in healthcare was held at the "Healthcare of Belarus 2026" international forum. Vasily Alekseevich Kovalev, a leading researcher at the Biomedical Image Analysis Laboratory of the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, delivered an important presentation on the current challenges of patient data security in the context of the rapid development of artificial intelligence.

Conventional security measures, such as data encryption, are outdated in the face of the challenges posed by new technologies. The speaker emphasized that today's challenges are more complex and nuanced, namely, the security of AI systems in medicine. In today's environment, threats arise not only from data leakage but also from data corruption, misuse, and attacks on the neural network infrastructure itself.

One of the key topics of the presentation was the use of medical images in AI systems. These images contain extremely sensitive patient data. As technology advances, new risks emerge: image manipulation, automated decisions, and reliance on AI, which can be hacked or manipulated by attackers.

The development of AI in medicine offers enormous potential, but requires attention to security issues. It's important not only to protect data using traditional methods but also to consider new threats associated with technological advances. This is the only way to ensure the safe and effective implementation of innovations and maintain patient trust.
