We start the week with good news for our institute – and with important results from last week.

At the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum in Astana, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko noted the contribution of the Belarusian scientific school to the development of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in his speech. It was particularly significant for us to hear the mention of the Institute of Technical Cybernetics – an institute whose history continues today at the Unite Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

"...systematic work on this topic has been underway in Belarus since the mid-1960s – ever since the establishment of the Institute of Technical Cybernetics in Minsk. So, we have been developing our own school for decades..."

For us, these are not just words. They represent recognition of the long-term work of several generations of scientists, engineers, and researchers who have shaped the Belarusian school of computer science and artificial intelligence.

The history of the Institute of Technical Cybernetics begins on February 10, 1965. In 2002, the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was established on its foundation.

We would also like to highlight another important fact raised at the forum:

"It was in Belarus that the model law on artificial intelligence technologies was developed, which was approved by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in 2025."

As a reminder, the model law "On Artificial Intelligence Technologies" was developed by the Institute of Informatics and Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, together with invited experts.
