UIIP of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus took part in the BELAGRO-2026 exhibition.
08.06.2026From June 2 to 7, 2026, the Joint Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus participated in the international exhibition "BELAGRO-2026," which annually brings together leading companies and research organizations in the agro-industrial complex. It is the largest demonstration platform for advances in agricultural technology, machinery, crop production, livestock farming, fish farming, processing, and food processing.
At the exhibition, the Joint Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus presented its latest achievements in the digitalization of the agricultural sector, which significantly contributes to increasing the efficiency of agricultural production and reducing costs.
One of the key areas of focus was an intelligent decision support system for managing the phytosanitary condition of agrocenoses based on the analysis of satellite data and ground-based information. This system allows for:
- predicting disease and pest outbreaks at early stages, enabling timely protective measures;
- ensuring rapid response and scientifically based selection of plant protection measures;
- reduce economic losses through the precise application of crop protection products and phytosanitary treatments;
- use multi-temporal satellite data and ground observations for more accurate monitoring of agricultural crop conditions;
- provide support for compliance with fungicide application regulations in Belarus.
This development was completed as part of the Union State's "Complex-SG" program and already shows high potential for practical implementation.
Furthermore, the institute created and presented an interactive prototype of a software package for crop rotation management. This innovative platform enables:
- agronomists and agricultural corporations to independently plan crop rotations;
- receive recommendations on crop selection and fertilizer rates based on analytical scenarios;
- simulate scenarios and assess the impact of decisions on future yields;
- improve the efficiency of agricultural technologies and accelerate the digitalization of crop production.
These developments represent an important step toward modernizing the agricultural sector and implementing modern information systems to increase yields and reduce costs.
