Academician Sergei Ablameiko—a distinguished scientist and a globally recognized authority in the field of computer science—is celebrating his 70th birthday. A ceremonial meeting marking this significant milestone was held at the Belarusian State University.

Dmitry Sakharuk, Director General of the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and Deputy Director General Sergei Zhilyuk congratulated the honoree on behalf of the entire institute staff and presented him with a commemorative gift.

"Your fundamental research, numerous scholarly works, and your activities in teaching and administration have earned well-deserved recognition both in Belarus and abroad. Your scientific school, along with your students and followers, stand as compelling evidence of the significant contribution you have made to the development of domestic computer science and modern science," the congratulatory address states.

Coinciding with the scientist's jubilee is the release of his new monograph, "Teaching the Computer to See: The Development of Computer Vision in Belarus". We wish him continued creative energy and new scientific achievements for the prosperity of domestic science.
