Guests from the Ministry of Economy learned about the most advanced developments of the Joint Institute for Informatics and Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

The Joint Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus welcomed guests from the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus and its subordinate organizations—the State Scientific Institution "Economic Research Institute of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus"  and the State Institution "National Agency of Investment and Privatization."

Participants in the tour, which was timed to coincide with Belarusian Science Day, learned about the institute's research potential and key developments in information technology and artificial intelligence. Andrei Govin, Deputy Director General for Research and Innovation at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, introduced the guests to the activities of the NIPI, its main research areas, and its applied developments.

First, the guests visited the NIPI Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, where they learned about the history and achievements of the institution, which is celebrating its 61st anniversary this year. The tour began with a presentation on the institute's founding, key stages of development, and significant scientific achievements. Leading research fellows presented a range of innovative developments: humanoid robots, 3D modeling technologies for creating realistic images and models, a bird call recognition app, and an audio guide app to help tourists explore Belarusian cities.

The tour concluded with an informative lecture by Vasily Kovalev, a leading research fellow at the Biomedical Image Analysis Laboratory, on the application of artificial intelligence in various fields.
