On February 6, a meeting was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus with the participation of Vladimir Stepanovich Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus, and Sergei Yuryevich Glazyev, State Secretary of the Union State. More than 70 representatives of Belarusian ministries and agencies, as well as 11 NAS organizations, also participated in the discussion, including Sergei Anatolyevich Korenyako, Executive Director of the Union State Complex-SG program and Head of the Department of Joint Space and Information Technology Programs at the Joint Institute for Informatics and Problems of Information Technologies (UIIP) of the NAS of Belarus. As a reminder, our institute is the key agency in the implementation of the Belarusian portion of the Union State Complex-SG scientific and technical program.
The meeting focused on the 12 Union State programs in the areas of defense, security, military-technical cooperation, social policy, and economics. Six programs, considered priorities for the further development of the scientific and technical potential of the two countries, hold special attention. Among them are four innovative projects under the auspices of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus:
- "Technological Platform for the Identification of New Molecular Targets: Membrane Proteins and Their Complexes" (Soyuz-Biomembrany),
- "Development of Robotic Technical Equipment for Industrial Gardening" (Sadovodstvo-SG),
- "Innovative Technologies and Equipment for the Production of Specialized Baby Food" (Detskoye Pitanie),
- "Development of a Complex of Automated and Robotic Machines, Equipment, and Digital Technologies for Dairy Farming" (Intellectual Farm-SG).
Vladimir Karanik noted significant advances in microelectronics and space technologies. Concrete results have already been achieved, making it possible to increase the level of technological sovereignty between Belarus and Russia.
"We approached this meeting with good results. Three union programs are currently in effect: photonics and microelectronics, space exploration, and biotechnology. "They comprise more than 20 events and are dedicated to current issues in scientific and technical activities," emphasized the head of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The State Secretary of the Union State, in turn, emphasized that the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus acts as the lead organization in the implementation of Union scientific and technical programs: "We always rely on the Academy's expert opinion."
