As part of expanding international scientific cooperation, a delegation from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is participating in the "HIT-NAS of Belarus Bilateral Academic Forum 2026," held at the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), one of China's leading technical universities. The event, organized at the invitation of HIT, includes a conference to exchange experiences for young scientists, where Belarusian representatives will deliver papers and presentations. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Shcherbakov.
The agreement to hold this forum was reached during negotiations between the delegations of both sides during a visit to Xi'an on October 24, 2025. The main goal of the event is to establish cooperation and exchange scientific experience in high technology, modern AI models, interdisciplinary applications, and innovative industrial solutions.
HIT is one of China's leading technical universities and a strategic partner of the NAS of Belarus in information technology and engineering research. The event program includes presentations by scientists from Belarus, who will share their research and projects with young scientists, master's students, and postgraduate students at KhTU.
The delegation from the Joint Institute for Informatics and Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus presented the scientific achievements of Belarusian scientific organizations to a Chinese audience and delivered their papers:
- Andrei Bondolovsky, Head of the Speech Recognition and Synthesis Laboratory, and Dmitry Lyakhov, Senior Researcher at the laboratory, shared their experience on the topic of "Multimodal Generative Technologies Adaptation to Low Resource Languages";
- Aleksandr Inyutin, Head of the System Identification Laboratory, spoke about "Intelligent Solutions for Automated Inspection Systems in Microelectronic Manufacturing";
- Eduard Snezhko, Head of the Biomedical Image Analysis Laboratory, presented the paper "Adversarial Attacks to AI-based Medical Image Analysis and Defense Method".
The work of Belarusian scientists on the international stage is comprehensive, combining efforts to maintain and develop the image of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus as a reliable partner in international scientific projects with practical working meetings aimed at developing interaction with Chinese organizations. This work contributes to strengthening Belarusian-Chinese scientific and technical cooperation and developing new joint projects that are crucial for the innovative development of both countries.
