The UIIP of the NAS of Belarus was presented at a youth projects forum

28.04.2026
The "Scientific Innovations and Youth Projects - 2026" forum was held at the National Children's Technology Park. The event served as a platform for showcasing innovative developments and intellectual projects by young scientists, students, and pupils from across the country.

Alina Makogon, a software engineer in the Intelligent Services Department, represented the United Institute of Informatics Problems at the event. She presented a navigation app that helps fishermen locate wintering holes for their fish. This solution is designed to preserve the country's fish diversity and also help fishermen avoid potential fines for choosing the wrong location for their hobby.

Twenty participants, 18 projects in total, participated in the Pervomaisky District competition. A panel of experts evaluated the projects based on several criteria, including the innovativeness of the idea, practical significance, and level of implementation. The jury included influential representatives of government and the scientific community:

  • Olga Fedorova, Deputy Head of the Pervomaisky District Administration of Minsk;
  • Oleg Gaidukevich, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus and Member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly;
  • Anton Ananchikov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Deputy Head of the Career Technology Center;
  • Pavel Trubeko, Chairman of the Youth Council of the Pervomaisky District Administration of Minsk.
The participants demonstrated promising ideas and innovative developments that could later be applied or are already bringing benefits in various fields, from ecology to urban planning.

"What I don't like about this competition is the awards ceremony. Because it's impossible to choose the best. The projects have different areas, different goals, but they are all talented individuals who came up with something on their own," Oleg Gaidukevich shared his impressions.

The event once again highlighted the role of youth in the development of science and technology, as well as the importance of supporting young talents who are ready to benefit society through their creative solutions and scientific research.
