Identification Systems Center: 20 Years of Protecting Digital Transparency and Security

11.06.2026

The Scientific and Engineering Republican Unitary Enterprise " Intersectoral Scientific and Practical Center for Identification Systems and Electronic Business Operations" celebrated its 20th anniversary. This subsidiary of the United Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is rightfully considered one of the key drivers of the digital transformation of the country's economy.

Established in 2006 as a specialized organization, the Identification Systems Center has evolved over two decades from a developer of basic technologies to a leading integrator of national labeling, traceability, and electronic document management systems.

The Center's primary objective is to provide scientific and methodological support for the creation and operation of information systems. The Center's responsibilities include:

developing and implementing standards to enable the unambiguous identification of goods (products) at all stages of the life cycle;
creating reliable platforms for data exchange in distribution networks, which accelerates business processes and reduces costs;
providing a technological foundation for fair competition and consumer protection in the digital space.

Today, the Center for Identification Systems serves as a bridge between science, government, and business. It ensures seamless interaction with government agencies and organizations of various types, implementing cutting-edge solutions to protect the market from counterfeit and "gray" imports.

Over its 20 years of operation, the Center has become a guarantor that product information—from raw materials to store shelves—is reliable and accessible. This is the foundation on which trust is built in the modern economy.

"Thanks to the daily, meticulous work of your well-coordinated, highly professional team, a range of scientific and practical developments have been implemented to create and maintain national-level information systems based on automatic identification and electronic business transaction technologies. These areas of activity are priorities in the scientific and technological development of our country. We are proud of your recognized achievements and the fruitful cooperation between our organizations," the UIPI NAS of Belarus said in its congratulatory message.

An anniversary is not only a reason to look back but also an opportunity to assess the future. The Center's role will only grow in the coming years. The development of traceability systems, integration with international standards, and the transition to Industry 4.0 require continuous technological improvement. The company is prepared to meet these challenges, drawing on the Academy of Sciences' powerful scientific potential and accumulated experience.
