The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has become a magnet for leading scientific circles in the People's Republic of China. Minsk is currently hosting an expanded delegation, including representatives from the China Center for Scientific and Technological Exchange, the Shandong Provincial Academy of Sciences, and other key scientific organizations and higher education institutions in China.

The multi-day visit is aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries in science and innovation. A key event of the program was the China-Belarus Conference on Cooperation in High-Tech Equipment Production held on June 16. Anna Karpenko, a research fellow at the Laboratory of Mathematical Cybernetics at the Joint Institute of Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, delivered a presentation at the conference. She presented the cutting-edge experience of Belarusian scientists in applying digital technologies to address global healthcare challenges.

The topic of her report was "Computer Modeling and Artificial Intelligence Technologies for the Development and Reuse of Medicines." In her presentation, Anna Dmitrievna described how AI methods allow:

• to accelerate the search for new candidate molecules for drug development;
• to predict drug effectiveness using computer modeling, thereby reducing laboratory research costs;
• to find new therapeutic applications for existing medications, significantly reducing their time to market.

Holding such international scientific discussions lays a solid foundation for the implementation of joint projects, technology transfer, and the training of highly qualified personnel, contributing to the strengthening of the technological sovereignty of both countries.
