Electronic Clinic: From Appointments to the Patient's Personal Account

30.07.2026

Making doctor's appointments, accessing a patient's personal account, and receiving test results—the introduction of modern technologies makes many commonplace things much simpler and more convenient. Instead of morning lines and notebooks full of notes, all data is now stored securely in digital form.

Paper prescriptions are a thing of the past, and the use of electronic records eliminates errors and document loss. Doctors gain quick access to comprehensive information and can make more accurate and prompt diagnoses. Patients save time and avoid stressful early-morning queues. The National Electronic Medical Data System creates a unified digital portfolio for every citizen. All this together expands opportunities for prevention, early diagnosis, and more effective treatment.

The system is already technically ready; all that remains is to implement and train specialists. Patients receive several benefits: convenience, safety, and control over their health. We'll talk about the new platform, which is currently undergoing practical testing, in the new episode of the "Simply About Science" podcast. The expert of the issue is Tatyana  Avdeeva, head of the development and support sector of the laboratory of information and analytical systems of the Joint Institute for Informatics and Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
