The developments of the UIIP of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus entered the TOP-20 of the startup projects competition

17.08.2026
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus announced the winners of the "100 Innovations of Young Scientists" competition. The expert council selected the top 20 developments, which will form the basis of the scientific and technical agenda for 2026–2030. Two projects from the Joint Institute for Innovative Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus were among the winners in the "Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence" strategic area.

The top 20 included a development by Artem Andreevich Radkevich, a young scientist at the Robotic Systems Laboratory: an omnidirectional in-wheel motor with artificial intelligence for mobile transport robots. The project is based on an energy-efficient valve-controlled electric drive and a neural network control system. This combination makes the movement of mobile robots smoother, more precise, and more energy-efficient, while also reducing vibration during movement. This development can find application in warehouse and industrial robotics, as well as in the creation of mobile transport platforms and automated logistics systems.

The second development to make the list of leaders was an intelligent service presented by Roman Sergeevich Panashchik, a leading software engineer at the Computer Graphics Laboratory. The project is a complex system hosted in the cloud. The problem with modern research is not a lack of data, but the complexity of cleaning and interpreting it. Multivariate statistical models often fail due to human error. A solution was proposed in the project "Development of a Cloud-Based Expert-Analytical System for Multivariate Statistical Modeling and Psychometric Verification of Empirical Data Based on Artificial Intelligence Algorithms." This system is an indispensable assistant for analysts working with clinical trial results or sociological surveys. The service already supports 15 criteria, and the model base will be expanded in the future.

The inclusion of two such different projects in the top 20 speaks to the integrated approach of the Joint Institute for Informatics and Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to technological development.
