The qualifying rounds of the national youth project "100 Ideas for Belarus" have kicked off at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in Minsk. This large-scale competition, organized by the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, has long been a platform for realizing the boldest and most innovative ideas of talented young people across the country.

This season, the project continues its tradition of identifying and supporting bright and promising initiatives in science, technology, ecology, and business. This year's special feature is the division of participants into three age groups, allowing for a broader range of ideas and initiatives.

Current nominations include "Energy and Energy Efficiency," "Agro-Industrial Technologies," "Information and Communication Technologies," "Healthcare," "Ecology," and "Best Business Idea."

The scientific community makes a special contribution to the competition. The submitted works are distinguished by their practical focus and potential. Participants included young scientists from the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. One of the projects is humanoid robots that could one day assist people with routine tasks both at home and in the workplace. Evgeny Lopatko, a researcher at the Robotic Systems Laboratory, presented the modular development.

Akhmedkhan Radzhabov, a junior researcher at the Biometric Imaging Laboratory, presented another project from the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on the sidelines of the selection round. This project is a development of a medical decision support system for analyzing medical images, such as X-rays and chest CT scans. This project aims to improve the accuracy and speed of diagnosis, which often plays a decisive role in the successful treatment of a number of diseases.

The final selection round for the project will be held on February 12-13 at the Ministry of Education.
