Fishing spots: how to return from fishing with a catch and not a fine?

12.02.2026

Fishing is an exciting pastime, and it's doubly rewarding to return with a good catch. How can you avoid leaving empty-handed or facing fines? It's important to know the characteristics of the water bodies and the relevant legislation. A new episode of the "Simply About Science" podcast has been released on the UIPI NAS of Belarus YouTube channel. The project was created in collaboration with the "Culture" channel of Belarusian Radio. In this episode, UIPI NAS of Belarus experts described a specialized navigator, shared valuable recommendations on how to use the interactive map, where to download the app, and how often the information is updated.

We remind you that, in order to preserve fish populations, in accordance with paragraph 30 of the Recreational Fishing Rules, fishing for all species in wintering pits is prohibited from October 1 to April 15. We are proud to say that the wintering pit navigator is a unique tool that will show you where fishing is prohibited and help you find the best fishing spots. The program explains where to look for roach and which bodies of water are best for catching chub, as well as how to use a GPS device for successful fishing.

Don't miss your chance to become a true fishing master and avoid mistakes that could lead to fines! All podcast episodes can be found on our YouTube channel.
