At the beginning of the year, the 2026 Winter Spartakiad was held at the Foton Children's Health Camp. Fifty-two teams from organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, including a
team from the Unite Institute for Informatics Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, took part in this large-scale sporting event.
The Spartakiad program included a variety of winter and strength events:
- cross-country skiing;
- relay race;
- bubbleboard;
- "Snow Sniper";
- "Squirrel Wheel";
- "Slippery Log";
- "Jumping Sharks."
Each competition required endurance, quick reactions, and teamwork from the participants. And our team had all of these in abundance! The atmosphere was filled with excitement and friendship. The UIIP NAS team included four energetic and motivated representatives:
- Polina Chizhenkova, Junior Researcher, Robotic Systems Laboratory;
- Tatyana Kim, Junior Researcher, Robotic Systems Laboratory;
- Artyom Gritsan, Engineer, Department of Scientific and Methodological Support for Digital Development;
- Andrey Sivenkov, Researcher, Department of Joint Space and Information Technology Programs.
The UIIP NAS team demonstrated true team spirit. Our coordinated work and determination to win allowed us to secure 11th place among more than fifty participants—a worthy result that inspires new athletic achievements.
In addition to the athletic competition, a real field kitchen was organized for participants and guests: they could warm up with hot soup and replenish their energy with porridge. A samovar zone was also open, where they could enjoy delicious tea with aromatic thyme and rose hips.
Everyone was welcome to try their hand at the traditional craft of chopping wood, which added an extra touch of color and a boost of energy.
