A tour for graduate students: how information technology is developing
25.02.2026
A
tour was held for master's students from Belarus and China at the Joint Institute for Informatics and Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. All of them are studying at the University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in different fields, but they share a common interest in the development of information technology in our country. The Intelligent Services Department prepared a welcome message in Chinese especially for the international guests. After a tour of the Joint Institute for Informatics and Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the master's students visited several laboratories at the institute. First, they visited the Robotics Systems Laboratory, where they were shown the latest developments in humanoid robots and control systems.
The guests then proceeded to the Speech Recognition and Synthesis Laboratory, where they learned about technologies already being used in modern society—from voice assistants to large-scale language models (LLM).
A tour of the shared supercomputer center was particularly impressive, where the participants saw the powerful computing resources and learned about their potential for solving engineering computational problems, processing big data, and modeling.
