Все мы — космонавты: вышел новый подкаст из цикла «Просто о науке»

Related to data received from orbit. But this time, the conversation is not so much about the technical side of the issue. We focused on people working in the space industry, or rather, those who want to connect their professional futures with it. The expert is Alexey Maratovich Belotserkovsky, Head of the Intelligent Information Systems Department at the Joint Institute for Information Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and a PhD in engineering.
Remote sensing data from Earth is used to monitor environmental conditions, manage natural resources, and even prevent natural disasters. This information is voluminous, regularly updated, and requires specialized storage and processing. Therefore, training specialists to work with it is becoming an important aspect: from universities actively involved in training future "space" programmers and engineers to internships and student participation in research projects.
The issue of measures taken to attract young people to the space industry also received attention: what opportunities for self-realization exist for young specialists, where they can gain practical experience, and what opportunities exist for immersion in the profession. "We are all in space," Alexey Maratovich concluded. "The Earth flies through deep space, so all people are cosmonauts. We all use technologies that are somehow related to space issues and the solutions to these issues."
